A list of our activities to be held in 2005-06: Visit to HKUST Civil Engineering Faculty The Civil Engineering Faculty of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is renowned for its high academic standard. It specializes in structural, geographical and environmental engineering. Since engineering is a science which requires high precision, mathematics is often involved in their research.     We organized a visit to the Civil Engineering Faculty on 18th March 2006 to see how mathematics is studied through operational research. A detailed report of the visit will be available soon. Cooperation with Junior Mathematics Department   We will assist the junior mathematics department in organizing activities as an extension to their normal curriculum. We will help to plan the cooperative learning curriculum, which collaborates mathematics-learning with real life scenarios and encourages students to put their mathematical knowledge to use.
