The French Department is composed of one unique teacher who is currently teaching  French subject in DBS since 1993. Previously teaching in Greece and in East China Normal University in Shanghai, he got a BA, a MA in Art History & Archaeology from Paris I – Panthéon – Sorbonne University, a First part of Ph D (DEA) in History & Civilizations from Rennes 2 – Haute Bretagne University (with a scholarship from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs), a BA, a MA in French as a Foreign Language from Grenoble III – Stendhal University, and a First part of Ph D (DEA) in Sciences of Language from the University of Rouen (Normandy, France). He is currently a Ph D candidate in Sciences of Information & Communication at the University of Lyon III under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Pierre Esquénazi. He is also member of Modern Language Subject Committee of HKEA since 1993 and currently the Vice-chairman of the Hong Kong French Teachers Association (http://www.afle.rectoverso.org/). He also takes part in numerous cultural activities in Hong Kong (former curator of the Woodside Arts Centre in Quarry Bay, editor of film critics for the Hong Kong Arts Centre and the Alliance Française magazine in Hong KongParoles”, French translator of Zheng Danyi and Leung Ping Kwan’s poems and RTHK cartoon, etc. He recently has been a guest speaker of the European Studies Society (Hong Kong Baptist University International Conference on Jules Verne), the French Sections of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He recently has been the guest for an RTHK documentary (‘The Outsiders’) broadcasted on October 14th   2005 at 7:00 p.m. on ATV. More recently, an article written in French and Chinese about the French Speaking movie selection of the 30th Hong Kong International Film Festival (4-19/04/06)  has been published in Paroles, No 202 and an article about the unclassified filmaker Chris Marker is available on p14-15 of Paroles, No 203. In March 2006 he has been appointed by British director Anthony Nolan, to be the Director for the Asia Division of Norlight Film Production (UK)

Introduction and lecture about European prehistoric life, religion and language.

                                 

March 2003-5    “Le Printemps des Poètes à Hong Kong” (“Poets’Spring in Hong Kong”), a poetic festival with various activities organised jointly with the Alliance Française, Jordan Branch. Guest of honour (2003) Philippe Brasseur, (2005) Gwenael De Boodt. (presenter of a Poetry Recital organized by the Hong French Teachers Association for the French Speaking Day Festival  on March 19th, 2005. )

1993                      RADIO SHANGHAI: Created and presented a cultural program about France and Chinese (Putonghua). Supervisor: Marc Lamy, Linguistic attaché at the Shanghai French Consulate.

 

1993                     RADIO “ARISTERA STA F.M.”, THESSALONIKI, GREECE. Created a program about French songs and culture in Modern Greek.
